Grove, Oklahoma Grove, Oklahoma Location of Grove, Oklahoma Location of Grove, Oklahoma Grove is a town/city in Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States.

Prior to Oklahoma statehood, Grove was part of the Delaware District of the Cherokee Nation in Indian Territory.

A postal service, titled "Brennen", was positioned in the limits of present-day Grove in 1888, but the town/city was not incorporated until the 1890s, Rose Stauber, "Grove", Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History and Culture, making it the only incorporated town in Delaware County when Oklahoma became a state. The town/city underwent a $3.7 million park universal to attract fishing affairs to Grand Lake, most recently attracting the 2013 and 2016 Bassmaster Classic. Grove is also home to the Grand Lake Casino, which was opened in 1988.

Grove is positioned in northern Delaware County at 36 35 19 N 94 46 59 W (36.588611, -94.783110), on the east side of the Grand Lake o' the Cherokees.

Route 59 passes through the city, dominant north 15 miles (24 km) to Interstate 44 near Afton and south 12 miles (19 km) to Jay, the Delaware County seat.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 9.3 square miles (24.0 km2), of which 9.2 square miles (23.8 km2) is territory and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km2), or 0.69%, is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 5,131 citizens , 2,286 homeholds, and 1,490 families residing in the city.

There were 2,286 homeholds out of which 22.4% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female homeholder with no husband present, and 34.8% were non-families.

In the city, the populace was spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 19.0% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 29.2% who were 65 years of age or older.

The median income for a homehold in the town/city was $28,464, and the median income for a family was $38,347.

About 9.3% of families and 14.4% of the populace were below the poverty line, including 25.0% of those under age 18 and 8.4% of those age 65 or over.
