Calera is positioned at 33 56 3 N 96 25 42 W (33.934260, -96.428392). According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town has a total region of 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2), all of it land.
The Calera town limits borders the Southern Durant town/city limits, but the actual downtowns of Calera and Durant are 5 miles apart.
Seventeen years later, the citizens of Cale Switch had their first postal service. That same year the town was given the name Sterrett, but Katy, also referred to as Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railway, barns official refused to call it by that name.
The debate continued for twenty-one years when finally in 1910 the town accepted the name Calera.
In the town, the populace was spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a homehold in the town was $27,766, and the median income for a family was $31,140.
About 12.2% of families and 15.8% of the populace were below the poverty line, including 17.5% of those under age 18 and 21.3% of those age 65 or over.

Calera is home to Calera Public Schools which is presently classified as 2 - A by the OSSAA (Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association).

The schools consist of Calera Early Childhood, Calera Elementary, and Calera High School.
Calera High School consists of students between Seventh and Twelfth grads.
Kevin Robinson has been the principal of Calera High School for six years, and in 2016 was titled Bryan County Administrator of the Year.
In 1995, Calera High School's Academic team won the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association State Championship.
The Calera boys' basketball program has advanced to the state tournament seven times, and is home to the 1956 Class B Boys State Champions.
In 2014, the Calera girls' softball basketball team was titled Area Quarterfinalist.
Calera is also home to three individual cross-country state champions, as well as three 1600m state champions, won by former East Central University cross-country runner, Cale Eidson.
The Calera softball team has been prosperous in the last several years.
The 2014 season was the first time any girls' team at Calera High School had made it to a state tournament.
The small-town FFA Chapter was titled Three Star National FFA Chapter and the National Convention form 2007 through 2011, and has experienced primary successes in Career Development Events at the State and National levels.
